PUPPIES WILL EAT 2-3 TIMES A DAY. A GOOD BRAND NAME FOOD THAT IS RECOMMANDED BY THE BREEDER WILL BE THE BEST FOR YOUR PUP.
ADULTS WILL EAT ONCE A DAY. I DO NOT LEAVE FOOD DOWN ALL DAY. FEED YOUR DOG AT THE SAME TIME AND YOU WILL HAVE A EASIER TIME WITH HOUSEBREAKING. FRESH WATER SHOULD ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE.

CAUTION: HOT WEATHER CAN BE FATAL TO A BULLDOG. KEEP HIM COOL AND SAFE. BULLDOGS LOVE THE WATER BUT ARE NOT GOOD SWIMMERS. THE BEST WAY TO KEEP HIM COOL IS TO FILL A CHILDS WADDING POOL 1/2 WAY WITH COOL NOT COLD WATER AND LET HIM SIT IN THE WATER. HE WILL SPALSH AND PLAY. HE CANNOT SWIM IN A LAKE OR IN A REGULAR SWIMMING POOL HE WILL SINK TO THE BOTTOM. IF YOU MUST TAKE HIM NEAR THE WATER YOU CAN GET A LIFE JACKET (MADE FOR DOGS)

*Never give your bulldog rawhide toys to chew on. The rawhide gets slimy and can get stuck down in the throat of your pet.....it can choke him.

This is a 6wks. old pup. At this age he will go for his first visit to his vet. He will get his first shot, more will be needed until he is 16 wks. old.
Heartworm preventative should be started.
Try to pick out a pup with a spike (straight) tail or one with a slight hook at the end. The tight corkscrew tail will only be a problem for the pup. You will have to clean under the tail and this can be very difficult if the tail is tight or inverted to the body. After bathing your pup make sure to dry under the tail......or it may start to smell and even get infected. Tail infections is very common . One sign of this is, the dog will lick the "air" since he can't reach his tail. This is one of the most misdiagnosed problem.
to avoid any sores and odor. Toenails should be trimmed often so the pup won't become flat footed. Ears can be wiped out with "baby wipes" as well as the face. Brushing his coat will help cut down on shedding. Don't forget about dental care, you will have to brush his teeth.
